The North Country Select Ranch and Performance Horse Sale Inc. was established in 2023 by Matt Rustemeier and Brian Griffith. Collectively, Matt and Brian have 50 years' experience in the horse industry, specifically in training and selling horses. Their passion to ensure those shopping for quality horses could do so with confidence, sparked the idea for a select sale. The North Country Select Ranch & Performance Horse Sale application process relies on 9 essential criteria for scoring and selecting horses. Each horse must demonstrate their skills in front of a committee of industry professionals. Only the horses that meet or surpass the requirements for soundness, conformation, disposition and training are selected. All horses are vet-checked for soundness the day before the North Country Select Ranch & Performance Horse Sale. Consigned horses will showcase their skills (ranch horse, reining, cow horse, roping, etc.) in a preview just before the sale. Horses will be on offer via live auction and online through DLMS (Direct Livestock Marketing System).
