Who are we?

The North Country Select Ranch and Performance Horse Sale Inc. was established in 2023 by two Edmonton area ranchers and horse trainers; Matt Rustemeier and Brian Griffith. Matt and Brian have 50 years experience, collectively, in the horse industry specifically in training and selling horses. Their passion to ensure those shopping for horses can do so with confidence in the process and the product sparked the idea for a select sale. North Country Select includes an extensive application process which includes scoring each horse at the time of application based on nine essential criteria. The horses that pass the initial screening will be invited to preview their horse to a committee of industry professionals. The top horses (25) will be selected for the sale. The chosen will then have their horses checked by a veterinarian for soundness the day before the sale. The horses will then be shown in a preview just before the sale where they can showcase their horse in its chosen discipline (ranch horse, reining, cow horse, roping, etc). Horses will then be offered for sale via live auction and online through DLMS(Direct Livestock Marketing System).

Exposure for Sponsors

North Country Select Sale has been recognized for its potential by other equine industry professionals and as such has been asked to partner with and co-locate with Canadian Country Expo at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Said event will be held concurrently with the 2024 Canadian Finals Rodeo held at Rogers Place in Edmonton Alberta. The location of the Expo and North Country Sale is only 15 mins from Rogers Place and the expectation is for 45,000 people to attend CFR 2024 with approx 8,000 per day attending the Canadian Country Expo. The time and location of the North Country Sale should attract thousands of viewers on the Saturday afternoon between CFR performances.

 

North Country Select staff will be manning a booth in the Expo trade show with the intent to further market the sale and distribute sale catalogues. Ongoing social media posts for North Country Select have already reached over 50,000 viewers with the expectation to reach more than 250,000 prior to sale day. North Country Select will be advertised in 3 magazines in June/July with potential for additional issues in Aug/Sept. Canadian Country Cowboy, Western Horse Review and Western Horseman total over 500,000 print readers/subscribers combined.

Sponsorship Packages Available

Packages listed below will be available on a first come first served basis and for a limited time. Once information goes to print (catalogue, magazine, etc) then sponsorship opportunities will be closed for the year.

Gold Package - $2000.00 +

This package will include; logo (with business info) included in aforementioned magazine print for Aug/Sept issue, ¼ page ad in North Country catalogue, banner (provided by sponsor and 4’x5’ in size) to be placed in arena for preview and sale, logo on website and social media posts.

Silver Package - $1000.00

This package will include; ¼ page ad in North Country catalogue, banner (provided by sponsor and 4’x5’ in size) to be placed in arena for preview and sale, logo/ad on website and social media posts.

Bronze Package - $500.00

This package will include; logo placed on sponsorship page in North Country catalogue, and logo on website and social media posts.

Specific sponsorship (auctioneer, trade show booth, online marketing, vet check, etc) or Friends of North Country Select ($100-$500) available on request.
