CONSIGNORS CONDITIONS

Application Fees are $150/horse – Application fees are refundable if your horse is not selected to attend the live selection in front of our selection committee. If your horse is selected then your application fee will be forwarded to your consignment fee leaving a balance of $700.

Application Fees Due: Application fees are due and payable at the time your application is sent in. Fees are payable via credit/debit card(3% transaction fee), cheque, cash or e-transfer.
Consignment Fees are $850/horse –Consignment Fees are nonrefundable once horse is accepted. Non-refundable includes but is not limited to a sickness/disease requiring quarantine or country pandemic that would keep the sale from taking place or any act of God.
Commission and No Sale Fees are as follows: All horses will be charged 8.5% commission on the sale of their horse, in addition to the catalogue fee. In the event of a no- sale; consignors will be charged $500. All no sales will be charged $100/day late fee if not paid on sale day and before retrieving registration papers. All “no sales” are required to be announced in the ring.
Consignment Fees Due: When your horse is accepted, we will email you an invoice that will be payable via credit/debit card (3% transaction fee), cheque, cash or e-transfer. and within 48 hours. If you’d rather pay with a credit card, let us know and we’ll resend invoice plus 3% convenience fee.
Registration Papers: When your horse is accepted, original registration papers and fully signed transfers are required to be received by the office in order to call the horse registered. Please make sure to send them “signature required” so you know we received them. Any horses that are not registered in seller’s name are required to get the papers transferred to seller. If the horse is not in your name by sale time, then papers will be announced as pending.

BUYERS CONDITIONS
REGISTER TO BID
To bid, prospective buyers must register in advance with our sales office. During said registration buyers must provide a credit card number and driver’s license number. In the event of a false/fraudulent bid the bidders credit card will be charged a $2500.00 penalty.
Payment
Payment in full is required to be made to North Country Select Ranch and Performance Horse Sale Corp immediately following the sale. Onsite bidders can pay by cash, debit, credit card, e-transfer/wire transfer or certified cheque only. A 3% convenience fee will be charged if payments are made with a credit card. Online and phone bidders have 2 payment choices only, credit card or e-transfer/wire transfer. All online and phone bidders will need to patiently wait for our clerks to contact you for payment following the sale. Make sure you plan accordingly and notify your bank of charges (e-transfer, debit/credit limits in place) . All buyers agree to pay $100/day late fee for any reason their invoice is not paid directly following the sale same day. By making payment, you acknowledge that you waive the right for a return of horse(s) along with any and all refunds of monies paid etc. in conjunction with any purchases at this sale/auction from North Country Select Ranch and Performance Horse Sale Corp.
GST will be applied to all winning bids.

Consignment Process Information
CONSIGNMENT PROCESS

Scoring Rubric – Follow the scoring rubric precisely, only scores of 25+ will be accepted. +3 “Superior” is what you should shoot for in each area plus bonus points. We will accept a variety of breeds & disciplines of horses and these will be taken into consideration when scoring.
Please know: all photos, description, and information you submit during nomination may be directly printed in the catalog. Our job is to ensure each horse is a good fit for our sale and buyers as well as our sale is a good fit for all horses and sellers alike.
The rubric has 9 scoring areas and these are examples of the highest possible scores(3 points), see scoring rubric for other examples:

Pedigree – 3 points given if horse is registered in seller’s name and papers in possession and includes pedigree with LTE and money earners.

Age – 3 points given if horse is 4-10 years old

Photos – 3 points given if more than 2 profile photos and 2 or more action
photos are provided.

Description – 3 points given if age and height is listed, 15 full sentences, pedigree and money earners listed, no grammar errors, and consignor name and contact listed in the description. Seller consents to list any cosmetic blemishes that do not affect the horse’s soundness (scars, chewed tail, cinch sores, bumps, etc.) in the description of the horse.

Conformation – 3 points for exceptional build and bone for breed

Disposition – 3 points for temperament (impeccable nature, character,
makeup, and fits any and all riders) no vices.

Body Condition – 3 points for not fat or not thin, fit and sale ready.

Bonus Points – If eligible and enrolled in incentives.

Negative Points – long coat, not shed, too short mane and/or tail

Performance & Riding Ability – horses that score a 4 or under on this will
not be accepted no matter what they scored in other areas. 10 points available in this area for performance, rideability, level of training, apparent disposition, and level of exposure to different settings and events.

In-person selection will be scored on required elements and event specific showcase of consignors choice(reining, team roping, breakaway roping, tie down roping, ranch roping, cutting, cow work, etc)

Confirmation Photos – minimum of 2 still photos – We cannot market your animal without great photos and videos. Help us, help you! Please make sure they are 1MB – 2MB in size and the horse is not cropped in the photo too much. Photos that are too cropped do not look good when we use them for marketing, especially in videos. The better the photos are the more we can use them in magazines and online marketing.

Video by URL – Required to accompany every nomination. Video URL can be submitted by any of these links: YouTube, Google Drive, or Facebook. Keep them 3 minutes minimum, nonprofessional for now, will not be shown to the public so don’t worry about adding music. Show riding and performance ability as well as gentleness and temperament.

Selection
If your horse is selected through the above scoring process you will be invited to attend a preview for our selection committee. At this preview you will be required to show your horse to include mandatory elements, and a freestyle/performance element. Cattle will be available for ranch/cow/rope horses. The top 25-30 horses will be chosen based on your application score(based on rubric) and your live selection preview performance.
